I absolutely hate cleaning up but sometimes there is no way around it and it just has to be done. Professionally, I've cleaned slimline oil tanks in the past, so I know cleaning has its own rewards too. The biggest cleaning operation I have ever done was when I moved house. The property was rented and I been there for a few years so in order to get the deposit back I had to make sure it was spotless and without any damage whatsoever. This was no small task as I had shared the house with a few people over the years so there was quite a lot of mess. The cleaning took a full week of five (or more) hours per day. I washed the carpets, the walls, scrubbed floors, tended to the garden, painted all the rooms. I did have a friend to help me with the mammoth task but he wasn't that good at cleaning and seemed to spend most of the time making cups of tea! Needless to say I was exhausted and never wanted to do any cleaning ever again. The house did look amazing, almost new, and I did get the deposit back in the end but ever since I have made a special effort to look after the house I'm living in! |
